De 2018 Le Pavillon de Léoville-Poyferré heeft tijdens het rijpen aan verfijning gewonnen. Medium vol en zijdezacht, de 2018 is nu al prachtig. Rijpe rood/paarse bessen- en bloemige tonen zijn prachtig gelaagd. Bovenal straalt de 2018 balans en klasse uit.

The Petit Verdot in the blend really comes through in the structure—this has a seriousness that the Merlot softens just enough for a long evening. I let it sit in the glass for a while and the layers kept unfolding, a proper Saint-Julien that feels built for the cellar but drinks beautifully now.
